We needed to stay in the town for a family event. It is the worse hotel I ever stayed in plus haves to pay double the normal rate!!!! Location was ok though!
Over charged room was untidy aand very poorly maintained. Worse hotel I ever stayed in!!!
Only stayed one night but found staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Our room 12 was clean with a sea view and balcony and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent for a 2 star hotel I thought this was good value for money especially as it was open golf week at Sandwich.
We could not believe the value for money from your website, the hotel was in a beautifull place on the leas in folkstone, right near everything,a walk over to a walkway that leads right to the harbour, which was lovely, the furniture in the room was very old ,but I think it added to the charm of the hotel, the room was very clean, the bed was the comfy so much so one morning we slept through breakfast we could not believe it he he,every member of staff was very friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best of time.we would certainly go back to this hotel and book through your amazing website,we had a fabulous break in a lovely place, the hotel was so near to everything we still cant believe our luck .
Small leak in the shower that soaked the floor,we did report it and the hotel were going to get it fixed, cant find fault with anything else, and wouldnt want to it was great.
I had a lovely sea view and a small balcony. The breakfast was very nice and service in the dining room was quick and staff very polite and efficient.
It could do with a little bit of decoration and refurbishment.
good location just right for a stopover to france. excellent value for money we missed breakfast as we had a very early ferry but it was included in price which is really good. found a really good italian restaurant just round the corner.
Only a one night stop ove to be close to Dover. Good value for money, close to town and overlooked the sea. Decor was tired and a bit dated. Friendly helpful staff. Secure parking, chargeable but useful to have.
Tired dated decor and fittings.
The sea views were good adding to the " holiday feel ". location was very good for the town area, we did not explore further, however we felt it would be a good base for further exploring of surrounding areas.
The bath panel of our first room was broken in 2 places, with the price paid it maybe should have been repaired quicker, or the room put out of use.
Nice location, nice staff at reception, room okay and good value for money,
The location of the hotel is really good. Our room was clean, comfortable and attractive with its balcony, although a small amount of maintenance in the bathroom would have made it even better.
Parking can be a problem. The hotel does have a car park with a charge of £5 a day. On the first day I was directed through a fire door to reach the carpark which is not immediately attached to the hotel. The next day we did this and were reprimanded by another member of staff, saying we were setting off an alarm. On the third day another receptionist said we should never use that door! A bit of staff training needed I think. Also we were under the impression that dinner was available every night but were informed that it was only when the hotel was full enough.
Check in was slow, but not the fault of the receptionist. Room ok, hotel could do with a refurbishment, it's in a good location and for the money good value.
The shower, no shower curtain and had to sit down in bath as bath in a low ceilinged recess.
Lovely sea view; close to all amineties
Excellent value for money..........Not exactly a 5***** joint but absolutely everything you need for a quarter of the price!!..........Friendly and helpful staff, a clean and comfortable room, good breakfast included in the price..........Wonderful views over the sea..........Have been before & will stay again the next time we are in Folkestone.
The condition of the hotel was very poor. The room was disappointingly small and with hindsight there were better rooms we could have been given. Furniture decor and facilities are badly in need of updating. There was a distinct stale smell throughout the public rooms and our bedroom. We were lucky that the weather was very good and we could go out, It would have been very depressing to have had to stay in during out stay. I think that this is not up to 2-star standards for condition.
We enjoyed the wonderful sea view and the proximity of the hotel to the town & the theatre. The breakfast was well presented and the food good.
Excellent value for money. Staff a bit "laid back" but very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Perfect location with distant views of France.
